At the outer limits of our Solar System, situated beyond the orbit of Neptune, lies the Kuiper Belt. Inspired by its namesake, The Kuiper Belt collection is a series of uniquely shaped hanging pots dedicated to life forms which have yet to be discovered. Each pot in the collection represents a new celestial structure—denoted by its symbol on the bottom of the pot. The project was prompted by Naturalist, a collective project highlighting 15 Russian designers in 2015. The exhibit was held in a historic greenhouse in Saint Petersburg, Russia.

So, what is the Kuiper Belt? It is part of our Solar System that is located beyond the orbit of Neptune. It was due to the discovery of the Kuiper Belt that Pluto lost its status as a planet. Since its discovery in 1992, the number of known Kuiper belt objects has increased to over a thousand, with more than 100,000 others thought to exist. There is a high probability that there is at least one more giant planet waiting to be discovered, however, we will never be able to see it, as the sunlight does not reach it.
